Attestor Network
Guardians of iBTC’s Integrity
The iBTC Attestor Network is a decentralized coalition of independent node operators ensuring every iBTC token is 1:1 backed by BTC on Bitcoin Layer 1. Comprising institutional-grade operators, DeFi participants, and security researchers, attestors validate transactions, co-sign movements, and maintain transparency with Chainlink PoR.
What Attestors Do
Verify Deposits: Monitor Bitcoin blockchain for vault deposits, ensuring compliance with protocol standards.
Co-Sign Transactions: Use FROST to co-sign BTC movements, requiring a quorum (e.g., 10-of-15) to approve.
Ensure Backing: Confirm 1:1 BTC backing via Chainlink PoR audits, providing real-time transparency.
Facilitate Redemptions: Validate iBTC burns and authorize BTC releases, ensuring trust-minimized withdrawals.
Who Are the Attestors?
Node Operators: High-uptime infrastructure providers with proven blockchain expertise.
DeFi Participants: Entities securing decentralized networks, enhancing iBTC’s ecosystem.
Security Experts: Independent researchers contributing to protocol hardening.
Security Measures
FROST Signatures: Reduces fraud risk with threshold-based co-signing.
Global Distribution: Nodes operate redundantly with hardware security modules (HSMs) for key protection.
Continuous Monitoring: Actively tracks on-chain activity to prevent breaches.
Audits: Regular infrastructure audits by independent firms ensure compliance.
